Insight and Understanding (2007 Revelation Segment)
By Ryan Pena

The fact that the Holy Spirit was giving clear insight to the word coming from heaven points to a significant release of understanding and interpretation this year.  The Lord desires for us to learn the language of heaven better than out first natural language.  We are being called to the anointing that rested upon Daniel:

Dan 1:17c
“...and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.”
NKJV

What is the importance of this?  We need understanding of the times, as well as visions, dreams and spiritual parables.  The Holy Spirit is going to take many through an accelerated school of understanding and interpretation this year.  We have had very little understanding of what to do with revelation, how to apply it and the timing of the Lord.  This understanding is being released in order for us to know how to respond to the revelation.

We will also see an increase in learning how to cooperate with heaven.  Learning to function in what heaven is doing will be vital to the Body of Christ’s health (spiritually, mentally and bodily).  Like David we will have to wait for the sound and moving of heaven and then step out in the same cadence (see 2 Samuel 5:22-25).  He had to cooperate with heaven to see the breakthrough and victory needed.

Believers who have cried out for wisdom and understanding are about to receive the treasure of searching.  Here’s the promise we have this year for those who have earnestly sought for wisdom, understanding, interpretation and insight:

Prov 2:2-9
2 Make your ear attentive to wisdom, Incline your heart to understanding;
3 For if you cry for discernment, lift your voice for understanding;
4 If you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures;
5 Then you will discern the fear of the LORD and discover the knowledge (not mental knowledge, but intimately knowing Him) of God.
6 For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity,
8 Guarding the paths of justice, and He preserves the way of His godly ones.
9 Then you will discern righteousness and justice and equity and every good course.
NASU

Let the Holy Spirit reveal the truths in this passage and make personal application of them in your life.  One truth we can plainly see through this passage is the issue of justice.  We will gain understanding of how to operate in truth, equity and justice.  We are being prepared to experience the courtroom of heaven in Daniel 7.

Continuing with the subject of understanding we must learn the language of heaven.  Heaven has a language that only those who are living out of those realms will recognize.  The fact of the Lord awakening me in my ear that morning was a token of Isaiah 50:4 for this next season.

Isa 50:4
4 "The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to hear as the learned.
NKJV

Get ready to be awakened by the Lord with revelation and insight.  This will include early morning wake up calls by the Holy Spirit.  The Spirit of Revelation will be unleashed in ways the Church has not yet experienced.  There will be a saturating of revelation in the Spirit and the Word.  However, we desperately need to ask for the understanding of what to do with the revelation so that it will not go to waste.

We must have the tongue of the learned this year.  One meaning of this is having a disciplined tongue.  Take care to watch the tongue this year.  Its looseness will determine the level of spiritual authority and creative power entrusted to us. Psalm 141:3 calls the mouth a doorway.  We will determine whether to be a doorway of heaven or hell for ourselves, our families and beyond.

As we discipline our tongue we will receive, “a word in due season.”  This is desperately needed in these days of crisis and turmoil.  The world and the church are weary and heavy hearted, but He is awakening us to the counsel of heaven.  Our tongue will give the unadulterated word of the Lord, untainted by religion, opinion and assumption.

Believers are being strengthened in this season in order to get the word from heaven to empower others who are weak.  Too many have become discouraged through striving.  Laboring has replaced relationship with Him.

Laborers are about to find the joy of loving the Lord in fresh ways and it will strengthen and transformed them.  These laborers are not only “full time” ministers, but all who have labored to serve Jesus.  This includes those who have labored just to be “good Christians”.  They have become weary like Martha, but are about to be revitalized as passionate pursuers of the Lord and His presence.
