A New Day (2007 Revelation Segment)
By Ryan Pena
On the morning of Yom Kippur (The Day of Atonement) I was awakened by the voice of the Lord in my left ear. With excitement and enthusiasm these words poured from His mouth, “Good Morning Ryan…Rise and Shine!” At the exact same time these words came into my hearing, the Holy Spirit was faithful to give me insight and understanding as to their meaning.
The understanding given to me by the Holy Spirit while the words “Good Morning” were spoken into my hearing was, “Arise, we have entered a new day!” A person says, “good morning,” when they have awakened into a new day. With this new day comes a new perspective upon the Word, new hope to believe God for what seemed inaccessible in the last season, greater grace to walk in Kingdom truth and much more.
Isa 48:6-7
6 "You have heard; See all this. And will you not declare it? I have made you hear new things from this time, even hidden things, and you did not know them.
7 They are created now and not from the beginning; and before this day you have not heard them, lest you should say, 'Of course I knew them.'
NKJV
Things that were previously hidden are uncovered when the light of a new day arrives. This new day will be characterized as a time where the heavens will declare the revelation and purposes of God like never before.
The Holy Spirit has compared this new day to the children of Israel entering the Promised Land. Permission was given to enter what was previously restricted. This required a new mentality and attitude toward the promises and their inheritance. Many have heard for years that we are crossing the Jordan. We tend to think this means it is time to walk in our promises and purpose.
However, when Israel crossed the Jordan it was merely the beginning of their preparation to take the land. They had to experience circumcised, Passover and partaking of the inheritance (Joshua 5). Over the past several years the Church has been going through the circumcision of the heart. In essence, we have been going through a death walk, especially since 1996. That was a pivotal year in the Body of Christ and began a ten year harvest cycle.
We may think, “I have not seen much harvest over the last ten years. This has been a harvesting of those areas of our lives and nature that bring an offense to the Lord in our lives. This cleansing and transformation has been for the purpose of producing Christ’s image in us.
Along with this cleansing has been the partaking of the Passover. This feast represented the Lord bringing the people out of Egypt. Again, we see the Lord’s work to bring deliverance to His people. The Passover was also about death. It pointed to the sacrificial Lamb that would have the power to bring us out of the world, its system, values and ways of thinking.
We have been learning to identify with the Passover Lamb. The Lamb who laid aside His will and rights in order to become fully pleasing to the Father. The last ten years has been characterized by the hand of the Lord bringing us out. This next season will be compared to Pentecost and the Lord bringing us in. This is pointing to the Overcomers who will begin to emerge. These have identified with His death and will now experience His resurrection.
Rom 6:5
5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
NKJV
Rom 6:5
5 For, if we have become planted together to the likeness of his death, [so] also we shall be of the rising again;
Young’s Literal Translation
Young’s gives the literal translation of Romans 6:5. The phrase “in the likeness of” is italicized due to the fact that it was added by the translators. The reason for this addition was due to their inability to understand the supernatural truth behind this verse. Simply put, we are called to be His resurrection. Meaning we are called to operate in everything that Jesus did while in resurrected form. We are not merely called to copy His earthly ministry, but His resurrected ministry as well.
After His resurrection, Jesus preached the gospel of the Kingdom for 40 days, He was translated from place to place and He stated that He now possessed all authority in heaven and earth (Acts 1:3; Mark 16; Matthew 28:17-18; I Corinthians 15:1-8). These are just a few aspects of being identified with His resurrection. However, we must first eat of the Passover Lamb, the partaking of His death.
The third part of Joshua 5 was the people eating of the promised land and the manna ceasing. I believe this is a call to maturity. For forty years the people lived off the blessing of God. That is great, but we are called to more than blessing. The people were now tasting of their inheritance in Joshua 5. For us today this passage is directly linked with Hebrews 6:5, “and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come.” We must now begin to eat of our birth-rite.
Walking in His nature, becoming His resurrection and partaking of our inheritance are part of this new day we are stepping into. In this new day the message will center upon the King and His Kingdom. More will be revealed in this generation about the Kingdom and the King who reigns over it than in any other generation.
